Coyote hunting
 
saw a show on tv where they tied a feather to a pice of string then to a pole for a visual and theycalled, they shot alot of coyotes. is this sumthing that only works on tv or will it work?

I saw the same show, and I'll be they would've killed just as many coyotes without it.

Sometimes by doing this the atractor will pull the critters
attention away from the caller..I used to do something
like this when fox trapping..Anything that will flutter
and wave in the wind...

I saw that show last year. It was filmed one hour north of me in Tucumcari, NM. I have been trying this trick off and on ever since I saw that episode. Sometimes it seems to be the ticket to a close shot, and sometimes it makes no difference. I have noticed a positive response from the dogs that see it. I use the largest feather from a turkey wing with a piece of thread tied to a 5/8" X 3' wooden dowel I painted flat grey.
