Anyone know a goodseason andtime to squirrel hunt?

Kingfisher, just guessing that your fairly young and new to hunting, which if I am correct, is great. Its a good way to learn ethics, patience, and commraderie. If you do not know a lot about the seasons in your local area, go to the nearest wal mart or sporting goods store and pick up your states hunting regulations. This time of year they are everywhere. Inside you will find the seasons for hunting all game from squirrels to deer and everything in between. Most states also have wildlife departments that post this information on the web. You can also do a search on this site for other hunters in your state and ask them. This seems to be a pretty good site for experienced hunters offering information.

for this time of year i agree with ridge runner. the best way to hunt squirrels this time of year is, by sitting close to a big stand of oaks, and listening for them in the leaves. goodluck.

Wecarry one of those camo buckets with pouches for shells, viennas, water and a soft seat that spins and sitstilluntil one or two shows up.

We had a nip around Easter that affected everything but the red oaks, so when we find a good red oak we're in luck!

I use a Remington 870 pump with 4-shot 2 and 3/4 inch shells, 'cause Ol Charlie ain't no spring chick anymore, and bushytails are quick!
