First bobcat , and he's a big'un

Sorry about the quality of the picture, it was very cold and moist and the camera fogged up.

I called this big tom cat in over a powerline yesterday afternoon. He came to a cottontail in distress call after about 10 minutes of low calling. I got him at 32 yards with my mossberg 500. He weighed 40 pounds on the dot and I expect that he is very old as his claws are worn down to nubs. I didn't take a good look at his teeth but they looked worn down too. I set a few traps around this area and I'll tell you how I did with that when I go out to check them.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Say Kodiak, I can't see the pic., but congrats on the cat. Calling in bob kittys is something not everyone gets to do. Sounds like that cat was over the hill and probably needed to be taken out soon. Congrats, again.

Congrats man. I don't think I've ever had a cat with worn down claws before. Those big cats are truly awesome. Are you getting it mounted? I had one that weighed about 40 or more said the taxidermist who is mounting him. It took the largest bobcat form he could get without ordering or making a special one. Hard to believe, but 98% people around here haven't even seen a bobcat. GUESS WE'RE LUCKY!

Without passion.....Why bother?

Is there anyone who can see the picture? That stinks. Maybe it's because my HTML is off? How can I change it?

I wish I could have it mounted, but money is a little tight right now. I'll just tan the hide and use the meat for trap bait. I have maybe only seen 4 bobcats in my life. (high fives all around :)).

Congrats kodiak! I notice you are trying to post the picture right off your computer. You will have to get the picture hosted on a websight. You also saved it as a bmp file, so you might want to rescan the photo as a jpeg as most photo sites only take jpeg files.

Go to www.trophyphotos.com and open up an account. When you get the account open, click the browse button to find the image on your harddrive or disk, and upload it onto your trophyphotos gallery. When the image comes up you will be able to enter in some information about the hunt, weapon, size of animal etc. When you are finished with all that, click on the image to make it larger, you don't want to post a thumbnail picture. Right click on the image and copy the image location. Bring it over here and put that between the[im/...[/im.. Just like you did with your bmp file.

It should show up. If it doesn't, we'll work through it till it does. :)

Once you get trophyphotos down you'll appreciate it. It's free, easy to understand once you figure it out, and you can post all your pictures here.

I tried the thing at trophy photos and it said that the picture would have to be approved before being put online. I noticed that even with a fairly good picture, when I try to put it on thier website, it turns out all blurry and smudged. Kind of made me look like popeye.
