Trying to. My shooters have been suckin' the big nipple so far. Rick is comin' out this next weekend, and he's been on a roll, so I'm hopin' he brings some of his good luck with him.
I'll tell ya how good Rick's luck has been recently. On one stand, with two teenagers shooting a shotgun and one with a rifle, he called in 10 coyotes and the two kids killed 4 of them. Then three days later, one guy got to shoot three bobcats, on film. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd bobcat that the guy had ever gotten, and he got all of them in one day.
I want some of that kind of luck, if ya know what I mean. Seems you could use a little of it too here lately!;)

DAMN! I do wish I had Rick's luck. I've got roughly 20,000 acres I am calling on around my home, and I can't get a thing to respond. The weather has been in the 30s-40s the last few days, and all our snow is almost gone now. The other nite at midnight I was outside and it sounded like a good 15 dogs going nuts northwest of my house. So I did go an get permission to call that land, so hopefully I can round up a few dogs there. We have a few calling contests coming up here that I am going to enter. Hopefully I can get my entrance fee back in those. I think I missed the state calling competion this year. :(

I should get caught up on my trucking one of these days, and hopefully I'll take a week off and head to Nebraska. I have a ranch down there I hunted a few years back and we got 47 dogs in 5 days of calling between 2 of us. :DIf the dogs are still doing good on that ranch, I might be able to catch up! :)

47 in 5 days will be remembered for years to come. That was a great stretch of callin'.

Drop the truckin', and get truckin' on down to Neb. That work can wait!![8D]

Yeah that calling was phenomenal to say the least. Our first set right out the ranch door about a 1/4 mile we had 6 dogs busting ass to us. We were both so damn bewildered at that site we only dusted one! LOL

I wish I would have taken my AR15 along. I had my 243 and 100 rounds of ammo, burned all that, and burned 50 out of my 7mm Rem Mag shooting dogs. We went there to deer hunt, and end up not caring about deer hunting and devoted the whole trip to coyote calling. In one set we had 8 dogs in a tree grove with us, I shot 2 of them with my Ruger Mark II 22 target pistol, and 1 with my 243, and my buddy dusted 2 with his 243. The ranch we were on was unreal! My buddy was in Iraq with the ranch manager for 18 months, and thats how we got on that ranch. Now he is no longer with that ranch, and we are trying to get back in contact with the landowner to see if we can come back and hunt it again.

I'll have to do some digging thru my pictures and see if I can find the pics from that trip. We end up coming home with 4 deer, roughly 40 coyotes (some were shot up too bad), a few badgers, and a fox. While driving down the interestate we had guys passing us giving us the thumbs up. At all the gas stations we had tons of people coming up to us asking where we found all those dogs at. LOL It was the same weekend as South Dakota West River deer season, so there were alot of hunters on the road.

Hunting all day today! Fresh snow from last nite, and its lightly snowing now and 15 degress. Should be a good day!

With just a couple more weeks left for the contest, it's starting to look like #40fan carried his team to the top and has left all other contenders in the dust, all by himself. Unless someone is holding off on thier honey hole, it'll probably stay that way. I get to hunt this afternoon through Monday noon, so I'm going to do what I can to make a little better showing, but this will probably be my last weekend out. Got good calling conditions, but as we all know, by this time of year, not too many dumb coyotes left to be called, so I'm not expecting to kill enough to catch up with #40fan.
Got all the scores up to date, and there's a small bunch of us running neck and neck for 2nd place, but as we all know, not too many people remember who got second![&:]

Howler - I actually have over 40 dogs I've killed this winter, I've just been teasing by not posting them all.............:eek:................Alright I got nothing. Seen 2 coyotes while coon hunting yesterday. I might devote this afternoon to coyote calling and the whole weekend.

I'm all day for the year. I took a big goose egg, got to fire one shot, in the last 3.5 days. We called coyotes, but the only shot opp. I got was at a fleeing long range coyote. We only killed two coyotes. Was tough calling for sure. Stayed in the house all day yesterday because of high winds, and my friends all headed home about 10 this morning because of more,, high wind![:@]The coyotes are rubbed here now, so I'm throwin' in the towel! Looks like Jrb is doing his best to make a charge to the front, can he do it!! A couple of weeks will tell.
