air rifle... safety first!
Just a reminder, never hurts... coworker was put in cardiac ICU when hit by a 177 pellet by the ear by a good air rifle. Downward facing shot, it chipped her jaw bone and came to a rest between the base of her skull and neck bone near the windpipe. Quite simply, hubby was in trigger pull when she stepped into line of fire. Well, she is back now and we are much relieved. Sooo... just remember it can happen to anyone. When I am taking a dicy shot, I use a spotter. Helps keep traffic from entering the sight picture.

Thank God that wasn't an arrow. She wouldn't be alive today.

RE: air rifle... safety first!
An arrow would have been sticking out of her mouth. Painful, unsightly, but not lethal with bow or pellet gun.

RE: air rifle... safety first!
Just curious what the situation was? How would the woman not be seen coming into the shot?
