Is night time good for yotes
I was just wondering if anyone has had success with hunting coyotes at night.

RE: Is night time good for yotes
Yep, I've done alot of coyote callin in the dark. Works best around here when there is a cold front and lots of snow on the ground (so you can see 'em coming easier) and a bright nite without a full moon helps. Seems like its tougher when the moon is bright.

I do a lot of lamping over here in Ireland, for red fox, no coyotes here. I am curious and not making a legal issue of this at all. A fox's eyes caught in a lamp are amber and shaped like ovals on their narrow end close together. Awfully easy to pick out from other eyes, except for cats but there are differences.
I am wondering what a coyotes eyes look like at night with a lamp shining on them? Or are ye allowed to use lamps for shooting at night, I know laws are different in different states. |

I've seen coyote eyes show up green (like a deer) and I've seen them show up amber. Its kinda tuff to tell a coyote from a smaller deer alot of times in the spotlight.

Coyote eyes are reflective green.
Calling at night with a partner is away to go. One running the spot light/caller, and the other shooting. Early mornings by yourself can be productive as well. |
