Ak small game local
 

Looking for places in the Mat-su valley to hunt small game. Heard of Petersville Rd., Schrock Rd., Pt. Mckenzie, Archangel Rd., gravel roads off the Parks Hwy. in Houston toward Talkeetna, Hatchers Pass, atv trails off the Palmer-Fishook, etc.....Can anyone give me information on the above mentioned roads/places? It would be greatly appreciated!!! I'm looking primarily at bowhunting grouse/ptarmi/rabbits. Thanks again for any info.[/align]

The Palmer flats is good off Matanuska Road for rabbits. Actually, it's really good. My buds and myself usually get a hundred rabbits out of there each winter. We come across ptarmigan from time to time, but I wouldn't hunt out there if ptarmigan is your primary target.
