what will a 30-06 sprg do to a coyote
 

i'm not looking to keep the pelt just thinning out the coyotes in the feilds. and i was wondering what would happen if i used my 30-06 elk rifle because im too cheep to buy another gun. i was also wondering how to get them within 300 yards

the 06 will roll them over dead in a hurry.believe it or not if you use a heavy bullet in that rifle pelt damage won't be to bad.if your not worried about it then use the lightest bullet(not the 55 grain excellorator,i think i spelled that wrong)you can for a fast flat shooting round.work them in with a rabbit in distress call.

coyoteseeker, what distress cal would you buy? the coaxer, the medeuim range,or the long range? at my local fleet farm there $5 a throw. do i need all of them?

you should have all three ranges with you.the coaxer for when they hang up out of gun range on you or are in close but interested in something else,the med range for average calling situations and the long range for those windy days or when you need to reach out there a long ways.5 bucks a call is cheap,if there good calls grab them.learn how to use them,practice-practice-practice.

That shoulda make em think twice about coming into your setup the 06 is a good gun just shoot it alot so you get comfortable at the ranges
