Coyotes AND Domestic Dogs?

a few years ago in one of the public W.M.A.'s i hunt, several others including me, observed yotes and domestic wild dogs running deer together. i know people say yotes don't pack but i have seen this with my own eyes. when i say domestic dogs, i don't mean "tame"/"pet" dogs....i mean wild domesticated dogs.

i dunno if this was just a hunting tactic the predators use to capitalize on game or if they lived together as a family. i have seen what appeared to be domesticated dogs that have crossed/bred with yotes on different occaisions. when i witnessed the above incident, the group ran by too fast chasing the deer for me to visually see if any of them looked to be "crossed".

has anyone else seen this activity?

RE: Coyotes AND Domestic Dogs?

Abouttwo weeksago i was hog hunting over a wheat field from a stand. A really darkcoyote or dog was after rats or mice at the end of the field. It pounced like a coyote does and acted like a coyote. But the thing was skinny and had a really ratty looking tail, not the usually bushy tail of a coyote. Too bad it never got within muzzleloader range.

RE: Coyotes AND Domestic Dogs?

I've seen dog's out running and killing turkeys and someone taught them a lesson. I love dogs dont get me wrong but dogs that run wild and hunt and kill for the fun of it need to be put down for everyones sake. I've had a dog coming at me full bore when i was turkey hunting and it stopped 75 yards away and must of got wind that he wouldnt make it close enough to me to hurt me and he left. Actaully it was one of the two from the first sentence. well I found him about 200 yards away from our first encounter deader than a doornail.
