Bunny Busting

First time in over 3 months the temp went above 0(....and the sun was out)so a few of use went to try our luck on the local jackrabbit population. Most of them ran out to about 400 or 500 yds before stopping. These two were tagged at about 150yds.
Stevens 200, .243, 100gr. Hornaday BTSPs with a Tasco Mildot 4X10X40mm scope. Was a nice afternoon.

Ya man, Mb's getting some nice weather now, finally, time to go look for some possible bear locations. Can't wait to go down to the states on spring break and get some new 2007 gear!

Now that is pretty sweet!!!! I tried to shoot some once but couldn't kill them with the 12 gauge. They're tough suckers.

Jacks or snowshoes? I didn't know that jacks changed colors. But I may be ignorant in that department. Nice shooting! :)

These are Jack rabbits(actually Varing Hares), very long ears, smaller back feet. Around here these guys tend to "herd" up in large groups(50 to 100) as it is the breeding season, making for someeasier shootingalso.Good eating too.

The Jacks we are shooting are all grainfed as they are feeding off of spilt grain in the fields. Very tender...wonderful tasting stews.
