Watched video "Callin all coyotes" with Randy Andrerson
 

In this video he mainly used coyote howls, locater and such. Only after a period of no activity did he use any rabbit distress or pup distress.

What do you guys start out with? What do you find yourselves typically using?

I am hunting in Iowa.

I have that video never watched Iseen another movie they made there nut cases:DIsuck at hunting coyotes i called it hawks rabbits even deer when i was calling yotes. Sorry I am no help.

early winter, I use distress almost exclusively. As winter progresses and breeding season nears, I use more and more coyote vocals and less/different distress sounds!

I usually start with howls and then move to distress this time of year. In the spring and fall i use mostly distress and in summer alot of howls for location purposes.
