Savage 24f

would the savage rifle over shotgun make a good yote gun ? looks like there are several choices for caliber on the savage web site. wondering if the 12ga/223 would be a good one.

Oh Ya!
I have one in .222/20 ga.
Had a scope on it for a while (came with it), but I took it off, and practiced tons with it standing and kneeling.
I will be trying it on coyotes next weekend. I am not sure about the range of the 20ga, but am in no doubt about the .222's capability.
I will be in some heavy brush, so the shots should be within 100 yards.
They are good looking guns (wood stock ones), and very reliable.

A very versatile gun with many applications. I had the .22 Mag/20 ga. for a while and it was a blast.

thank you for your responces. there are a couple of things though, they seem to only be avalible in the syntetic stock version, and the 20ga isnt threaded for screw in chokes. doesnt seem to be much of a weight difference between the 20 and the 12 though. beeing around 8lbs do you guys use bipods or freehand ? the screw in chokes will be my deciding factor ( more versital, cabelas new book has a screw in poly choke cyl-ext full at a twist )

Mine does not have the screw-in chokes, so I can't say....sorry.
I try to use a Stoney Point bipod when possible. Otherwise, I like a good leather shooting sling over a carrying sling.
