Default what to do, what to do

I really want to start coyote hunting. I have the land to do it and I know that they are all over in there but i have never seen any while deer hunting (bow or gun). Is this normal? I hear them all the time and see the tracks everywhere, do they not come out during the day much?

Early morning and evening. They like low light hours hear in the east.
If your state allows, hunt them at night with a spotlight.
Get a good caller and decoy if you're alone.

coyotes are most active at night. However, there are times and places and conditions that they can be active at any time of day.
They can be called any time of day or night, but where legal to do so, night calling, done correctly, will be most productive.

Ya up here in Wisconsin you cant use the big lights. The DNR site says that a flashlight can be used at the point of kill (flashlight isnt defined). Sorry for all the questions, but I have a few more if you guys are willing to answer anymore lol.

Is hunting good year round or are certain seasons better (fall, winter, etc.)?

Right now I shoot a 30-06 for deer and I dont want to go out and spend a bunch of money on a coyote gun right away. Is my odd six going to just totally destroy the coyote or will it be ok to use until I decide if I want to get another gun (I can never have too many lol). Thanks a ton guys I really appreciate your help.

I wouldnt hesitate to use a 30-06 unless you want it to look pretty for your wall or somehting. Other wise just use a spot light and a blind or treestand and some meat or a good decoy and a good howler or distress call.

They are sly... very sly, unless they are really hungry then they will just hop right across a field looking for the prey your are immitating. They arent as active in the day as they are at night. around here they are really active in the mornings. It just depends on where you live.
