WESTERN NEW YORK STATE PREDATOR HUNT UPDATE
 
Attention all callers here in the east... Now that deer season is winding
down, let's concentrat on some real fun... predator calling!!
Here are some details for the first annual WNYS Predator Hunt...



BUCKSNORT HUNTING WORLD and The Bark At The Moon Coyote Club have teamed up to proudly present a brand new contest... The Western New York State Predator Contest!

If you like to hunt coyotes and fox, then this contest is for you.


THE DETAILS:

What:
Any and all interested hunters who wish to participate in a fun contest. Each hunter must fill out entry form and pay $ 10.00 in advance of the contest. If you are hunting as a group, each member of group must pay individually. All hunters must possess valid NYS license. All game must be harvested in accordance to NYS DEC rules. Eligible game for this contest include coyote, red fox and grey fox.

Method of harvest for this contest... Due to the fact that organizers have no present idea of how many hunters will participate in the contest, there will be one division. This means that predators may be hunted by calling as well as pursued by dogs. In the future, We may have two separate divisions, one for calling and one for running dogs.


When:
January 4th & 5th, 2003. Contest starts on Saturday the 4th and continues through Sunday the 5th. Check-in will be at 3:00 - 4:00 PM at Mickey's Restaurant in Palmyra, New York (Located right off Rt 31). Click on the icon below for map of check-in site.


Where:
Hunters can hunt anywhere in the state. All harvested game must be
presented between 3:00 - 4:00 PM. Winners will be determined and prizes will be awarded at this time

Why:
The emphasis of this contest is to hunters in New York to have an opportunity to participate in a predator hunting contest right here in our own state.

Prizes:

All cash prizes are in direct relationship to the number of contest enrants. The organizers absorb NONE of the fees.

Cash will divided into first place and second place winners, 75% and 25% respectively.

We anticipate that other prizes will be available as well.

Winners to be determined by a point system. The hunter with the highest points we be chosen as the winner.

Each Coyote = ten (10) points

Each fox (red or grey) = five (5) points

In case of a point tie, the total weight of the hunter's harvest will declare the winner. In this case, the highest weight will win.

i'm there,you will rercieve my entry form shortly.you changed the weigh in location to mickeys,havn't been there in years.back when i used to drink had one to many soda pops in there many a time.looking foward to this event,not so much to win, but just to be there and see how many predator hunters there are around here.i do believe though that you will have to have two divisions,dogs and callers.i know theres alot of dog runners around so it might be no contest for the callers,time will tell.
