Yes , you can snare them if it's legal there , whether it will kill them or not depends on the type of snare used and how much force it exerts .

thats a sweet looking pike, i have a lake house on lake vermillion(norther minnesota) and they are a blast to catch never tried ice fishing for them tho

yes ya can snare both .... and dont need a ram powered snare .... just a plain ole snare with a lock will kill em dead if ya neck snare em .... snares are very selective and need to know the precise size of loop/loop to ground distance ..... a snare with a relaxing type lock will also kill em dead if they can tangle .... but they are not too friendly with domestic animals so watch where ya use em and be selective in the areas ya use em .... also make sure if they are legal in ya area and if they have restrictions as in .... loop size, lockin/relaxin locks .... deer stops .... etc .... also do sum research on cable size .... good luck to ya !!! one that hit the end HARD

I cant remember what they are called off the top of my head but they make a snare that gets tighter the more you pull and that will choke them to death if it gets their neck.
