This is one reason why no one would like it as most want to mount the coyote or sell the pelt and try to get the most out of it. With such a hole you could loose some dollars when selling it, and have a hard time getting it mounted without paying extra $$$ for the work they would need to fix it up.

awhile back I began workin up a handload for my 30-30 specifically for varmints. its throws a 110 grain hornady RN around 2600 fps. The hornady bullet im using is normally used as a hunting bullet for .30 carbine pushing a MV of around 1900 fps by boosting up their velocity with the softer construction of the bullet for slower velocities it outta do a heck of a job on coyotes. Sofar with accuracy testing out to 100 yards with groups you can cover with a nickle it should be plenty accurate out to 200 yards. the sad thing is with such a light a bullet it loses velocity fast so in all actuallity it probably should only be used for 100 yard shots or less to get ballistic tip type expansion. the other down side from comparing this load with a 150 grain loads on ballistic tables is even with the higher velocity its probably not gonna fly any flatter then 150 grain bullets. about the only advantage I can see with the this load at the moment is bullet expansion advantages for short range shots. owell its fun to tinker with loads and the is a 30-30 makes a fine all around caliber including the use on varmints.
