Hunting Bobcats

Anyone here have any advice on how to setup and get a bob cat. I shot one last year while siting in my rifle. While I was shooting it just walked out in the field about 100 yards away. I popped him. We have a lott of hay grass in the field and it's full of rabbits. We have seen about 10 bobcats around the house, and the little kids like to play out there. So we are trying to get rid of them or cut down the population. I have seen them out there while deer hunting but always to far away.

Just want some advice on diff tatics from the expeirience you guys have...

Dogs my friend dogs that is the best way to hunt them, run-em, tree-em shoot-em, feed the dogs. or if you would like to be more natural try to create ideal habitat make lots of big brushpiles in one area bring your rabbit population up and one will show up. You could trap them and that I don't know but it is most likely thebest way to handle it.good luck keep them kids safe.

a good coon dog should fix the problem. my friend has multiple coon dogs and they have treed bobcats before but not that often because they arent that common here in ky atleast where i hunt.

hunting cats like that doesn't really seem like hunting to me. your supposed to hunt them, not the dogs.

RE: Hunting Bobcats

Sorry if you don't think it's hunting. If I was hunting bobcats then I would just hunt them. But my family has a problem with them around our house and they are concerned about the young kids playing in the yard, and in the fields. We have observed two cats one day sitting on the edge of the hay grass watching the kids play. So we are trying to thin them out a little.
