Coyote Dens?

Would coyotes have dens burrowed out in a field, flat ground near a fence line, and have 5 holes or more all in one group? Holes are large around than a coffee can and smaller than the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket. If so, how would you go about hunting them? What time, how often, etc. And if you don't think they are coyote dens, what would they be?

Fox or Groundhog.

Want to know, make a snare with steel leader or motzart wire, make the lop a bit smaller than the hole.

Very few badgers are taken by calling them in. It has been done, but trapping will be much more effective on them!

I dont think you are gonna find a coyote hole by accident. They are pretty slick. If its leagle there put a #220 conibare over each hole and wire them in.Put some rods or sticks in between the jaws to keep it from tipping over.Be ready for a skunk.

Coyote dens are usually a bit bigger than what you describe - sounds like a fox or skunk took over a woodchuck hole and just reams the burrow out a bit - if you have badger where you are and try trapping one - here is a tip - do not even try to stake down the trao they will just dig it out - use a log about 4 - 5 feet long and tie off to that use it as a drag they wont go far and even if they get back down the hole you'll be able to drag em back out.A drag like that will work on most setups if needed
