Well if you have a place where you could find them easy I would just go out there with the .22 pick them off. I have never been hunting rabbits with dogs before but I know it would be fun.

no dogs are just like santas elves(no offense to you beagle people) small little helpers. just walk through a field with a shotgun or a .22 jump em and with a rifle stand perfectly still wait till they stop then pow. with a shotgun follow em with your barrel then pow.

No... There are many way to rabbit hunting. More than I know probably. Some ethical, some not. Depends on how you look at it. Here are a few:
[ul][*]Use of Dogs[*]Jump shooting[*]Stalking[*]Use of Ferrets[/ul]
I find that hunting them with dogs are much more rewarding. The time put in to training your dog and watching it work is brilliant. Jump shooting and stalking them is no fun for me. In Michigan, I think the use of ferrets is illegal.

If your hunting for meat, get them anyway you can. I just hunt them for enjoyment (mind you I don't spare any rabbit jerky :D) so I love hunting with my beagle.

ferret? wow, i've never even heard of that. sounds interesting, though.

i personally have decent luck jumping them so there's no need to invest in a dog.

Jump hunting rabbits.

find a likely spot, stop, get out with gun, walk through area, wait for rabbits to "jump" out of their dens or whatever they are in, then either wait for them to stop after sometime and shoot them with a rifle, or shoot them on the run with a scatter gun.
