I clean it carefully, toss any tissue with shot damage. I prefer it coated in flour and fried. Makes good gravy, too. It also does well in marinades. Flesh is fairly mild. Kids will confuse with chicken.

the only rabbit i ever shot was about 10 yards away and i severed his the spinal column clean in two in his neck with a .22. we made a stew with him. it wasn't bad at all. and yes, i did just want to brag about the shot placement haha.

A great recipe is rabbit pot pie. Take the chunks or rabbit and brown it in butter. Take any kind of brown gravy and mix it with the rabbit and simmer for about 15 minutes. Toss it all into a 10 X 13 baking dish with potatoes, carrots, onions, celery and whatever else you want to add. Cover with tin foil and cook at 350 for about 30 minutes (or until veggies are tender). Take out of oven, mix up a couple cups of bisquik and throw that over the top. Bake at 450 for 8-10 minutes or just until the biscuts on top brown. Then DIG IN!!!!

put it in the crock pot and cook it until the meat falls off the bone. then pull the bones out and let the meat simmer in your favorite bbq sauce for an hour or so.
