RE: Better yote round

if using the .223, what is a good cartridge (factory) to use? (rem accu tip, nosler ball. tip., etc. ?)

an accutip or nosler ballistic tip type bullets are great I personally really like the performance of a v-max.

For the 223 and 'yotes I would stick to 50-52gr bullets. Ballistic tips or V-maxs or HPs would be my choice of medicine.

For factory .223 ammunition, Black Hills is hard to beat.

I would favour a good 55gr SP myself for penetration.

I would have to say that for out to 200yrds they perform about the same. Past that the 22-250 shows what its good for. If I only had one to use it would have to be a 243Win. You got the distance and the knock down. Jovan

RE: Better yote round

I have had a .222 Rem, 22-250 and a .223. At this point I have settled in with the .223 as I don't have to shoot over 200 yards, and I prefer the lower report. I sold off the 22-250. But if I was out west in the flats, I could see the 250 or the Swift. As far as barrel wear goes, well, heh heh, I shot the barrel out of my old 222 Rem. Fired it that much. Mainly used Hornady SX.
