.22 mag's and coyotes
i just got some remington 22 mag ammo today that uses the V-max bullet. do ya'll think this would work well for yotes up to around 100 yards??? i figured these would be a better choice than a regular hollow point. what all do ya'll think. i will be using my 06 for longer shots but there are a couple of areas that i wouldn't want to hunt with it. my marlin was my backup for close range shots.

.22 mags rock... 2,100 some fps. great bullet. V-Max should work fine. if you have the right scope then you can shoot a groundhog accurately up to 200 yards... over125 yards you should shoot a bullet around 160 grains or lower with the .30-06, or else there will be freakin big hole on the other side and there's nota good pelt. trust me, i know that from experience

colorado what bullet weight would you recommend in my 30-06 then??? i have some accelerators(55 grain), 165gr soft points, and 180 gr corelocts. i could probably get a few 150 corelocts or 125s if i absolutely have to...

The lil remingtons for the 22mag do a wonderful job on coyotes. I shot one last year with that same load around 115 yards or so. It was in the spotlight and I only had a set of eyeballs to aim at, didn't go anywhere but straight down. I wouldn't be scared to shoot one thru the vitals with them, but a head shot would be better.
