Cooking squirrel

went hunting a few weeks ago and bagged 3 in NJ. skinned them and soaked them overnite in salt water then put them in freezer the next day. i was going to cook them up this weekend and looked at them in the freezer and noticed some strands of fur on the meat. how can i get that off when i thaw them out to cook? don't want that fur in my meal!!!

No need to worry about the hair. It will fry off. If you still want it off, just try washing it with water again. Here's a tip: When Cleaning squirrel from start to finish, wear a powder free latex glove. It keeps the hair off the meat and it's a lot cleaner.

I have found if you put them into a bucket of water and wet them real good befor skinning they want get hair on them.
as for the ones you have, just put them under running water and wash real good.

I am not a hunter I am a whitetail population reduction specialest

remember keep your back to the sun, your knife sharp, and your powder dry.
