rabbit taste

could anyone give me a comparison to what rabbit meat taste like? I know ruffed grouse taste like chicken except more favorable and a little bit more wild. But what does rabbit taste like?

It might be a good idea to observe what the rabbits in your chosen hunting area are eating.
I'm harvesting squirrels in an area with berries and nuts instead of just acorns and I believe this is showing up in the taste. I'm getting some very tasty squirrels! I've also seen comments on the various boards about this animal and that animal and what they are eating and how they taste.
Good eating & good luck!

For some great recipies for Rabbit, check out almost any decent French cook book. "Lapin" is very popular in French cooking and it is prepared many different ways. I had it in a light white sauce with pearl onions and new potatoes ("lapin cassoulet") at a trendy restaurant very recently.

Fresh cracked pepper is crucial.
