257 wby mag?
 

is this too much gun for fox/yote and bobcat? i am in the process of purchasing one of these for deer and hog hunting and thought thta maybe it would be a good varmint/predator calber as well.

If you plan on saving the hides, it's going to do some damage. But it will work. I have used a .25-06 some, and it is a good gun for distant shots on coyotes. But for smaller game and areas where I won't be shooting at long range, which is the case 95% of the time, I use a .223.

this is coyote hunting just for population control. hides are no factor.
