Black Coyote
 

Shot a black male coyote this morning weighing approx. 45 50 lbs.
There have been a few other black ones killed in our area before.
I was just wondering how common this color phase is.BTW it was
hunting with another larger coyote and doesn't look like it carries
coy dog characteristics.Anyway just wanted to know how common
this is in other areas.

I friend of mine that I deer hunt with got a nice Black coyote a couple of years ago and had it mounted and I have seen a couple while in the woods myself. There is a cinnimon colored one that has been seen in a field near my tree stand that I would like to get but haven't gotten her in my sights yet.

Not right now,but I do have a digital camera.I just don't know how
to post the pictures once I have them.

Upload your digital photo to a host like Photobucket.com. Then click on the yellow camera (looks more like a yellow envelope with a postage stamp on it to me) on the far right just above where you are typing your post. A script prompter will appear, delete the http:// then copy and pastethe URL from photobucketto the script prompter and your picture should come up.

I seen a black one once in my life and that was a few years ago. I chased him around all season but he proved to be smarter then I. Congrats on out smarting your black yote!!!
