Coyote Gun Question
 

i was just curious what the smallest caliber would be that you would use for coyotes?shots will probably be out to 100 yards. thanks for the info

i wouldnt go any lower than a 17 hmr

Ya, I wouldn't use the uber-small .000000009 caliber varmint gun to take down a yote. If you breathe to heavily, you might have a bullet sway...LOL. One thing that wasn't stated is shot placement with say a .17 HMR. Head shot only under 100 yards. If you are not a good shot to place that, go into the .20 caliber range, so vital shots can be the norm for you.

I believe in centerfire only. With that you have many small calibers, such as the .17remington, .204 ruger, .22hornet and such.

"life is short" dont listen to these guys. they dont know what they are talkign about. the one and only gun for yotes and bobcatesis a 50bmg.every one knows that.VERY SMALL intrence and excite hole;)
or a 308 would work too.... i guess..haha

I believe Ducky here has lead poisoning by firing that .50 cal too much, and that is effecting is posting abilities.

ok well maybe it just a LITTLE much for a yote. but think. you could pop one out to a 1000 yad easy.and you wouldnt have to skin. you would just have to sew all the little peices back together.i would like to try it.. just cause, but the one i got weighs 38 pounds so i doubt i will be hauling that around.

I find that a 223 is the best caliber gun for small game like these.

yeah i would go with something a lil bigger than a 223 but das just me
