Need mouth calls?
I need a few mouth calls, got an electronic call but thinking I need to change it up sometimes to better my sucess. Normally I shoot more fox than anything managing my club property to increase the quail, turkey and increase the small game, but I'm going to start going after coyote more on the club and venture to other places after coyote. Any sugestions would be very helpful, going to steal one of my kid stuffed animals for the squeeker.

RE: Need mouth calls?
Hey Crimedog,
Look for animals that you think the coyote would prey on such as rabbits and birds. If you find the animal that the coyotes seem to be eating the most you might want to use a call that imitates the distress of this animal. I usually find places that have rabbits and then use my trusty rabbit distress call. |

Maryland. Mostly deer is what the coyote eat here, but rabbit squirrel quail grouse are around. My step mom raises sheep, think she mind if I borrowed one for bait? Anybody try a silent dog wissle to wake them up?

RE: Need mouth calls?
crime dog i have never tried using a dog wistle but i think the howl will do the same thing(waking them up). even though fawns arent droping right now, if deer is their main food group. try it. i have had sucess with it at all times of the year. i like it in places where coyotes are called alot because its a sound they havnt herd a hunter use and they still come in as for if you used a rabbit distress they would hightail it out of there. most primos calls for distress purposes and desent open read calls for the price you pay. they can sound like all kinds of animals. ex. jackrabbit, cottentail fawn, doe, mouse, etc
