i always usemy trusty50 bmg. they seem to do the trick every time. not much left of them but u can take them at a 1000 meeters.if that dont work i always carry my trusty swiss army knife and stab it to death;):D

i use full choke 12 gauge with #6 shot. i dont understand what they are talking about. i can always get all the shot out of the squirrels pretty easy. I also use a .17 hmr but i wouldnt recomend it for squirrel because if you dont make a good head shot it is catastrophic on the meat. Id try a .17 mach 2. i dont think it would do a lot of harm to the meat

!!! you get that close to a wounded squirrel to stab it with a 2 inch blade?! your nuts! i just pop another cap n its head. i got bit in the web of the thumb picking up a squirrel that i thought was dead. i was wrong!:D

I killed over 50 one year using primarily a 410 with #6 shot. The last two years, I have used a 17. It makes a bigger hole than a .22 but I haven't had any that were really tore up, even when shooting fairly small greys.

Take the best of both worlds..... my favorite I use is my grandpa's 22/410 over and under

i use a bolt action 22. caliber, with a weaver k4 scope on it.
