COYOTE # 13
 

I HAVE BEEN WANTING TO TRY YOTE HUNTING WITH MY BOW FOR A WHILE NOW. WELL TODAY I FINALY HAD A SUCESSFULL TRIP OUT WITH IT. I STARTED CALLIN AND AFTER ABOUT 15 MINUTES HE CAME IN TO ABOUT 10 YARDS AND THEN FELT A SHARP POINTY THING IN HIS LUNGS:D. I HAD BETER GET ANOTHER ONE SOON. 13 IS A UNLUCKY NUMBER. ANY ONE ELSE HAVING ANY LUCK CALLIN YOTES?

Congrats on the yote, that is sure something with a bow! :)
I haven't had much luck this year, The are running everywhere and have shot a few but they just aren't coming into the sets very well, just wandering around on their own?

Congrats on the bow kill. Not an easy feat. There will be a "bow kill only" predator video on the market this next year, I hear;)So far this winter, I have called in over 30 coyotes, but no bow kills, haven't even taken the bow yet, but will be trying it on the weekend of Jan. 6th, 7th and 8th!

I love bowhunting for coyotes. Such a rewarding task. Good job.......Keep taking those predators the harder way.

it just takes practice okie. i did a whole season with out one commin in. i found the more people you talk to about the sport the better you become. also if u can find someone in your area to hunt with who knows what he is talking about. get with them. i went with a older man who has done it for years and he tought me just about everything i know. one thing he drove into me was the set up. its the most important thing in hunting yotes i think

The bad thing is I have grown up in the woods. I have been killing varmints as a child in trap lines. and have been successfully calling and killing numerous varmints for the last 15 years. I guess if it were easy everyone would do it. I made four beautiful sets this morning with no luck.
Big open field in front, wind in my face, sun to my back, sitting in the shade, scat all over the roads, same rabbit calls I have been using for years. Even made a couple challenge howls this morning seeing that our coyotes are mostly paired preparing for denning season. I will find out in the morning if my luck has changed. I WILL BE IN THE WOODS! Send me some luck and just a little skill.
