Fox Hunting/Calling/Baiting Help

Today I went down to the lake to see if the ice was thick enough to fish on yet and I noticed a nice pair of fox tracks scurrying about the lake. I have seen this in years past but this year I really want to shoot one. I have coyote hunted several times and have an electonic caller and a hand rabbit sqeauler (sp?). I have alot of scrapes I could bait him with and I have a great spot to hunt him I just was wondering what the best strategy was. Do you call them like coyotes with the sqeauler? Do you bait them with some meat? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, --- buckhunter14

You might just want to get some leftover chicken meat with some fat on it and have it in the open a little because if it's too far out in the open, the starlings and other critters will eat it. I would also probably call with the rabbit squealer and wait in the day time because I don't think foxes are active at night. Just try it out and see what happens.

We through food scraps out at our house at night and almost every night we see a fox come and eat them... They are ussually only visible in the early am... At least that has been my experience.

I was working at the local nuclear plant this year and there was a pack of foxes....at least 6. They were in the parking lots every morning and would come right up within 5-6 feet if you called them. I found they love Hardees chicken biscuits, but would only pee on a stick of gum if you offered it. :D
