finally i get to hunt them ole tree rats saturday! its a 2 day season for juniors and my dad likes to go that do to scout for deer and fall turkey before we seriously hunt small game...i cant wait! gota get the small game jacket and brush pants out tomarow and wash em up! i just cant decide waht to shoot...i think a shotgun to make it easier to get a good head start on dad..but i have 3 12ga and a 20 ga i can take! pretty bad when the only troubles you have is deciding what gun to take...i think i will take the ole mossy 500 out...havent shot it for a while...i cant wait! anyone else dying for hunting season!?

for some reason last nite when i was packing i had the itch to look through a scope not blast with shotguns...so i packed the 22....im deadly with it thats one of my favorite things to shoot with..i will get a good head start on him being he isnt allowed to hunt tomarow just take me hunting!..nothing like ahead start in a race!...he always seems to catch up by the end of the season!...and ive never heard somebody shoot so much! i know why he hates 22s so much for rat hunting he couldnt hit em! yesterday i washed our stuff and emptied his pockets he had 30 shootgun shells with him...add our states small game limits of all the game combined he could limited out shooting everything twice! i carry maybe 12 for a limit of 6 rats and 2 grouse..i dont need to carry lead around for nothing! o well ..i cant wait! i will post on how many i got!

think about me when your out there.I gotta work 12 from 7am till 7pm want even get to go bowhunting.

Hey, I can understand what you're saying, longtime bowhunter and Squirrel harvester. I've got twelve on the year, love to bust em. Killed 18 with a bow last year and less with a shotgun. Want some good Novemeber practice, wait until they are on the ground and sneak up on them for a good shot with the arrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well i just got back...only hunted like an hour...seen 2 reds and 4 or 5 grays...only got one red and wounded but couldnt finish a gray..too many leaves to be using a 22 very effectivly...made a nice shot on the red...it was barking at me about 45 yds out up on a broken off branch facing me...put the crosshairs on his head and squeezed off....perfect shot...if i would had the 12 ga i would still be cleaning my limit! i still had fun! my dad was impressed by my shot i made! cant wait for next week!
