best way to squirel hunt
 

i have been out just a couple of times this year trying to bear hunt and i have found the best way to squirel hunt just use a climbing stand take your rifle and a big stick if they know that you are after something else they will just come to the tree you are in. use the stick to wack them. everytime i have hunted this year i have had at least 5 to 10 just sit near me and bark untill they got tired and then the next one would take his place this will drive you crazy

LOL! Ain't it the truth! I don't know many folks will admit to it, but I suspect a lot of deer hunters have been suprised because, while being distracted by the antics of a local squirrel, they have been suprised, or caught off guard by approaching deer.

i take a pellet pistol to use on the squirels and take my 223 and hunt over a fresh gut pile the 223 being for a coyote or fox and the pellet pistol for squrels.

I must look like Rambo when I deer hunt , I do one of two things I carry my AR-100 and the 5 round clip and a 28 gauge and when I can't stand the squirrels anymore I shoot them with the 28 OR I just carry the AR-100 and when the squirrels get to bad I dont know how it happens but my 20 round clip all of a sudden appears in my gun and when I get a hit with that .223 theres not much to claim except maybe the tail
