Going lion huntin in about a month. I'm going with a friend who says he never uses a call. He's been pretty succesful judging from his pics and mounts. I've never hunted mountain lion before. Any suggestions, tips, and stratagies besides using a call would be greatly appreciated.

If you buy a tag you will never call one in!

If you do not buy a tag you will call 4 to 5 in a year.

This has been what I have done.I will go calling dogs and sure enough a big tom will come in.But when I buy a tag and try to call them. The dang things will never come in.

I bet the fish and game warn the cats every time I buy a tag.

Sounds about right. In my state, they're a nuisance animal. 5 tags, $15. Cheaper than hog tags. Problem is that they're so hard to find. I've seen sign of them when hunting deer, but never actually seen one. The funny thing is, we've had 3 come into the cities along the mountains in the last year. Of course they frown upon hunting on main st.

Maybe I'll try the pork chop thing. :)

if legal hounds would be great but if not bait if legal lol

Yeah I used to guide for cats. Hounds are the way to go.
