Squirrel season opener yesterday

Had a fun day getting back into the woods despite being a bit warm. I decided this year to hunt squirrels strickly with my scoped .22. I ended up taking 5 bushy tails and am convinced the .22 is the way to go. There is still a lot of folliage---but I was able to get nice clear shots. Looking forward to some squirrel and rice!!!

So how has the rest of the season been for you? I got 29 so far. Been pretty good for me. Everything going well.

I have only been two mornings. Have gotten 5 each time. Having a good year so far.

I centered one with my bow on Monday. 'Twas the first critter to fall prey to my hunting quary. Took it with my Mahaska longbow.

I got 15 squirrels opening weekend, Saturday and Sunday. One short of the limit for two days. More red fox than the grays. I hunt on a private lease that goes from hwy 61 to the lake. Plenty wildlife all over the lease. I also shot about 1 million mosquitos also.
