I got a response from Lonnie Hummel from Hornady today. He said that the #2240 and #2260 .22 cal S-X (Super-Xplosive) are designed and not recommended to exceed 3400 f.p.s. mv. He said that he would not recommend running them much over 3300 fps mv.

i figured as much, I figured they were hornady's bullet that rivals speers TNT. more or less they are for .222 and .223's. I havent got a chance to try them out yet on a yote but id imagine they should perform well for me even at a mv of just over 3000 fps.

I was reloading them around 1976 when the 222 was still going strong. Back then, the dealer said they were meant to expand rapidly at "all" 222 velocities. So I never tried them in my 22 250. But if you make a shot with one, I am always interested in how they do.
