Bobcat and Coyote Question

I just recently got a picture of a coyote and bobcat on my cuddeback in GA and i am interested in hunting them. I was trying to find out what the regulations were on hunting them. for example what the seasons are if electronic calls can be used and if it is better to hunt at night or day. Also if anyone knows any good sites that tell the basics of hunting both and maybe a guess of how much each woud weigh. any help would be greatly appreciated. Here are the pics.

Well I couldn't find it. I dunno maybe you should go to a local hunting store and ask for a reg. book on hunting. I found the web site but couldn't find the dates or bag limits. But here is the site i found.

RE: Bobcat and Coyote Question

It probably actually falls into the trapping regulations. I went to that link, and trapping, and found it is legal to trap coyotes any time of the year. Not sure about Bobcats.

See, here in Nevada, you have to have a trapping license to take furbearing animals by any means (gun, bow, or trap), or to trap any unprotected species, or to sell the raw furs of any animal. There are no limits on animals you can trap, but bobcats have to be sealed within ten days of the season.

It is all kind of confusing, so I would talk to your local GW or Wildlife office, and find out the details.

RE: Bobcat and Coyote Question

Awsome stuff... First if you want to hunt them their hinds/pelts would be nicer in winter anyway, But your Bobcat season is 12/1 to 2/28
That is all I could find out but I would imagine it is similar to Va. We have a continuous open season on Coyotes they are considered a nuisance species and a regular season similar to yours on the cats.

you can get what you need from Ga. Dept. of Resources www.gadnr.org/

or Wildlife resource division 770-761-3044
