since no one has mentioned them, i feel obligated to suggest a cz rimfire. A bolt action .22 lr can be had for around $200 and they are of excellent quality. Also, all of the cz rimfires i have seen have been extremely accurate. I have a 452 american in .17 hmr and it's a tack driver.

No problem. For the price, it's hard to beat the Gamo Shadow 1000. I suppose if you wanted to spend a little more (around $300-600), you could get an RWS or a Beeman. But aside from fit and finish, most Euro springers are about the same. Some guys opt for the German rifles, but I like function over form. Despite the lower price, my Spanish-made Gamo is still a finely tuned instrument that shoots one-hole groups at 20 yards. Comarable to even the most expensive magnum springers. Well, good luck finding the right airgun.

I had no idea there were even different types of pellet guns, and that they had such a big following. i just have my powerline or whatever from when i was younger. the kind you pump up to 10 times, and it is ok, but i want something with more pop and accuracy.

Heh, heh. For rabbits and tree rats, I used the triple deuce for headshots. Poof and it is gone. But I am going to the .223 soon. Ammo is cheap.

for rabbits i use an old single shot .22 topped with a 4x. that works great out to about 75 or 100 yards. i also use a bolt 2oga, with an extra full choke, and high brass #6's.

THe Ruger 10/22 is pretty accurate. It's my favorite gun for squirrels.
