barnes x will out penetrate .but are very hard to get
to shoot out of my guns.
I have one gun that loves them and thats a 270
I have my 243 at the shop now to neck size it.

308 is a very good deer caliber.
the 260 is close to the 243.good but not that much punch.
7mm08 is a step up from the 260,but two steps down from
the 308.it is hard to beat a 30 caliber on deer....

I like the 180 my self. I never had anything get away.
one shot and it's over.
but big bear I would go with 220 hornady.
180 will blow up to fast in a griz shoulder.

I like the 180 grain nosler protected point partition
with imr 4350 it's close to 2700.

but I never had to shoot over 80 yards with that bullet.

just to much kick..it's a lot more then my 375 hh.
and it did not shoot that good,2 inch groups at 100.

RICKT 300 you hit the nail on the head.

I haveshot deer from a 223 to a 338um.

they all go down if you hit them right.

I load for a guy with a 30-30 with 170 nosler flat
and it will take...

I have both 243 and the 7mm08 in brush the 243 with a 100 grain will not crash the bush like a 7mm in a 160 grain no were close.
the 160 is 2400 ft and...

I have seen deer shot through the jaw with a rifle period

we all can make a bad shot. the best shot can hit
a branch and go into the guts.
