I didn't really like the compensated barrel, the front sights would get fouled up after a bit of shooting. Just more stuff to clean, I don't think the compensated barrel really offered...

If I remember correctly from my classes, you need to shoot 2 rounds nearly instantly to cause hyrdostatic shock and instant death. Although, we were talking about military weapons. No one with a bolt...

I'm still not sure how I feel about CCW on campus. Even in the military, you get patted down for ammo on you after shooting a range, and I'd trust any Marine before some college kid. Campus police...

I still prefer an M16A4 though, just cause it's what I'm used to. My M16 has an ACOG, broomstick grip, PEQ-2, and a flashlight on it. I'm sure they'll find more gadgets to stick on it soon.

The Shoulder-fired Multipurpose Assault Weapon, aka the SMAW. It's the loudest handheld weapon in the military. My hearing has worsened since I joined the Marine Corps a couple years ago.:D

I've carried a few hundred 5.56 rounds, blasting caps, c4, det cord, HE rockets, grenades, etc, and haven't had anything blow up while carrying them. I wouldn't worry about a few rifle rounds going...

I've never used them on hunting rifles, but I have used ACOG sights with the 4x magnification. Expensive, but they are awesome. I imagine they'd do good for close range hunting.
