i have also used rem copper solids in my rem 1100 w/ 21" remington rifled barrel...

i would say you don't need the 300win mag but if you get the urges like i do go buy it. but most of my friends in maine (if the get pulled for the moose tag ) use the 30-06sprg some use the 270win....
