How Light is Light? Do you want it in oz. or Ibs. triger pull? I have had my Remington 700 with old and new triggers adjusted down to 2 Ibs. safely. Just change the trigger spring and adjust them.

Either one will suite you well. The 270wsm is ballistically the same as the 7mm remington with the 140gr to 150gr. bullets. I shoot the 270wsm and has been very accurate and a pleasure to shoot....

Sounds like a rifle problem not a cartridge problem that you had. So I would not put the 270wsm down just yet. I am getting more velosity then advertised with my gun. Plus I am getting 1/2' to 1/4"...
