2 1/2" at a1000. Who needs a 300 RUM to kill anything on the Continetal US at a 100 yards. A 300 Tomahawk will shoot a 240 SMK at 2860FPSwithout any problem. Thats putting them in a...

I hope you're shooting paper at 1000 yards and not live animals! :) If you're shooting paper, you're probably taking target rifle accuracy. I'd think the 300 RUM would/could last a hunter many, many...

I use to cut my arrows as short as possible for speed. I guess old age or wisdom has caught up with me. I now figure the 2 or 3 fps increase in speed isn't worth having the broadhead resting behind...

I had good luck with the Federal Premium 150 grain BTSP in a couple 7mm's I owned. I harvested several whitetails with is and the load was accurate and shot fairly flat.

RE: What 7MM Magnum Ammo

I'm with Ruddyduck. Federal Premium and Hornady usually give the best accuracy in my rifles. Normally I'll grab a box of Federal Premium before anything else for my accuracy testing.

You probably just saved yourself a trip. I don't see any gunshop selling S&W for almost $100.00 below wholesale! I'd say your friend or his dad was mistaken on the price.

RE: 12 or 20 Gauge

Get the 12 gauge. The 12 will do anything the 20 will plus a little more. You can always shoot lighter field loads in the 12 if recoil is a problem, but you can't make the 20 take any more shot!
