If left on the skull the inside spread shrinkage shouldnt be any more then a 1/2" If cut off completely its hard to say how much they could shrink but I couldnt image 2"!

I really think the Scoutguard 550 is the best cam out there for around $200. Great pics, excellent battery life, and very quick trigger. I own two and am not at all dissappointed in them.;)

As other have said, if the deer is facing the direction of the cam when the IR goes off they can see it but they will not spook as bad as say white flash would.
