They don't seem to be worth it. Most of the time you are going to get busted because the smell you or see you move.

RE: might start dove hunting this year any tipps

I agree for sure! Don't short yourself on shells.
Be patient. Let the dove get within 30 yds before you pull up as they dodge and move quick. Choose shots that you are good at. Look for flyways.

RE: WA state GMU 382

I hunted IEPC before they raised their rates on the pass. I was surprised with how many people there were. I would try knocking on some doors. I am not sure IEPC is worth the money.

I prefer muzzleloading. Lately I have been taking first time hunters so I have rifle hunted (30.06 or a win .270) the last couple of years. I spend most of my time with a shotgun in my hand hunting...

RE: E WA muzzleloader elk

tell me about it. Go look at the Idaho harvest numbers and compare them to WA. They have single units that harvest as many elk as our entire state! WA is very mismanaged!

I agree with JW. The big hay bails also provide warmth in the winter. It would not be uncommon to see flocks of 100 turks in the stack yards during the winter.

RE: decoys and calls

If you are going to invest in decoys I would recommend Magnums. I hunt potholes and creeks/canals and bigger is better for me. I rather have a dozen really large decoys than 3 dozen small decoys.

RE: Is a 30-06 rifle good for all N.American game?

I have quite a few rifles including most of the calibers mentioned and IMO the 30-06 is one of the if not the best all around caliber. It is what I shoot most often.
