A cheap fix is to cut the factory rubber stop off with a utility knife, then super glue a Sims Recurve Ultra Limbsaver in it's place. Big difference in noise.

Then, take those Hoyt string...

You'll only get good at the longer distances with tons of practice. So keep at it. Bow/arrow tuning is critical, and so is brain tuning. It is difficult to get really good at the longer distances...

You'll be ok with a set of bucknasty or Mike Priester's strings at H & M. Wolfden also makes very good strings at a reasonable cost. I've them on my last 2 hunting bows, and they were great.

Use bow string for the pull cord. Get one made up for the right length after you set the rest up. Some string makers out there make a neat setup for that rest, or you can rig up something on your own...

A sleeper of a target bow is an 2007 Hoyt 38 Pro with the XT2000 limbs. It flat out pounds. With the cam 1/2 option, you'll have close to 9" of brace height and 39" ata. You can pick up the camo ones...

Buy the Easton RPS target points. 9/32nd diameter. lancaster archery has them, or any easton dealer can get them. Or....any 9/32nd diameter field point will work for that matter.

I got 285 or so out of a 6.5 at 29" cam, 400 grain arrow on 60 lbs. My vectrix is shooting dead on at 270 with the exact arrow at 64lb.s draw, 28" cam.
