Ruger's web site does list serial numbers indicating manufacturing dates for 2005 but I too havent seen any models with such serial numbers.

Cover with black plastic from garbage bag.
Tape with black electrical tape.

Thanks for the info on your all weather.

I am not too keen on the shine of stainless either. I have several synthetic stocks and laminates but never ordered stainless for the glare factor....

Then click on new rifles. It comes in wood and stainless all-weather.

By the way, I never said that this caliber couldnt be used over 100...

Does anyone know of a site that listsrifle manufacturers according to caliber. For example if I look up 45-70 it would tell me Marlin, Winchester, etc. along with model number.

Tagged a doe this morning. 15 yd shot from 20 ft up. Deer took three leaps and fell over not more than 15 yds from where my arrow passed through and stuck in the ground. Never saw one drop that fast...

Never heard that one before, I may be wrong but I am pretty sure that using your 40 yd pin on a deer 5 yds from your tree, no matter how high you are is a recipe for a certain miss.
