Ive tried em all and prefer the muzzy carp tip...The stingray tips are good too but they are so long you hafta get better penetraion to get the barbs into the fish. Another oggd one is the penetrator...

Either will w fine....I'd say you'd be better off using a recurve than using a high letoff compound...Low letoff compounds work good but high letoff ones are tougher to shoot fast due to the jerk...

A 50# recurve should work fine. There are alot of good ones out there and there are usally some good buys on E-bay if you keep a eye out.
