RE: Holy A-Bolt!

I have shot a 30-06 A bolt for many years with excellent results. I just bought a stainless stalker in the same caliber and will retire my old one to the safe with many fond memories.

RE: Deer-dog hunting changes in Kisatchie considered

Sounds like my experiences with most dog "hunters", hopefully they will be able to outlaw dog running down there in La. Gotta start somewhere. It is going to come to a head here in NC soon as well.

RE: Tikka T3 Lite vs. Browning X-Bolt

No comparison, Browning. I would also stay with the .270 Win, it will definitely do the job you are looking for your new rifle to do.

I am a Lifetime NAHC member, member of the NRA and have more guns and rifles than I can keep up with, and hunt all over NA, so I don't need to hear I am an anti. However, I moved from a rural area to...

Just a personal thing, but I wouldn't give you $100 for a truckload of them. Too ugly for me.

RE: Help Me Pick Out A Pistol?

Would suggest a Glock, Springfield or S&W MP in semi-autos and a Ruger SP101 or S&W if you go to a revolver. Those are my suggestions, I am sure you will get more. In my mind, these represent a good...

RE: Ruger#1 or bolt action

Ruger 1's are classic rifles and like someone said, you also have the "cool" factor of a SS. Personally, I would go with the Browning in .270, they are just hard to beat.

+1 on the browning. It is at the top of your budget, but I would also consider a Sako Finnlight. You can get one in synthetic and stainless for 1500.00 if you are so inclined.

RE: Marlin 336

RE: Zeiss or Swarovski?

The Zeiss Conquest, the SLC Sawr's, it is the cheaper model about $800-900.00.

Maybe I should have asked for the best binos for less than $1K

Thanks to all who have commented so far.
