Yes the wind sucks. Its a fact that deer move proportionally to wind velocity. Like someone else said, just hunt something else on those windy days or stalking could be another idea provided you play...

I'm guessing you shot and missed a deer that had been previously shot.....perhaps by those other guys. Your arrow probably picked up a hair dropped by the wounded deer when shot at.

Yes, its very possible. Simply cut the horns off at the skull plate. Then, you can use any deers hide and head to do the mount. All you need is the horns, preferably connected with the skull plate.
